Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Services

A dog being examined with our diagnostic suite

Coastal Animal Referral Emergency offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging services to diagnose concerns about your pet’s health and well-being. Our advanced imaging technologies provide detailed insights into your pet's condition for a fast and accurate diagnosis.

Radiographs (X-Ray)

Radiographs, or X-rays, create detailed images of your pet's bones and joints with a quick and painless procedure. These clear pictures of your pet's internal structures help us identify fractures, foreign objects, and various internal issues.

An ultrasound in progress

Ultrasound

Ultrasound technology uses sound waves to generate live images of your pet's organs, like the heart, kidneys, and bladder. This excellent diagnostic tool helps us determine the cause of your pet’s problem and collect samples for pathology review. Ultrasounds are commonly used to evaluate chronic disease processes and provide real-time insights into the health of your pet’s internal organs.

A CT scan

CT Scan

Our CT machine captures clear, detailed images to assist in the diagnostic interpretation of trauma, chronic illness, and other disease processes such as cancer. CT scans are very quick but often require mild sedation to collect the best images possible. Your veterinarian may recommend a CT scan instead of X-rays or ultrasound based on specific patient concerns.

Performing an endoscopy

Endoscopy

Endoscopy utilizes a thin, flexible instrument with a camera for a real-time examination of your pet's digestive system. This versatile tool allows us to visualize and sample sections for biopsies, providing valuable insights for pathologists. This procedure is performed under sedation and can be scheduled or done while your pet is hospitalized. Endoscopies can also help to safely and effectively remove foreign objects from the digestive tract of your pet.
