Meet Our Blood Donors
Meet the amazing pets who have already joined our Blood Donor Program. Each of these heroes has played a vital role in saving lives:
Meet Tucker

We chose blood donation for Tucker after we learned of the need in our community and the importance of donors in emergency vet medicine.
Last year was a tough year for our family, losing two golden retrievers to cancer ten months apart, our compassion for critical care animals is strong. CARE saved our golden boy Axle when he suddenly collapsed at home. Once checked into our appointment we began the conversation of a possible blood transfusion during surgery, we checked yes to opt in and that's how our journey began. Axle survived his surgery and left CARE tail wagging and happy, we were incredibly thankful. We had our boy back and a beautiful three weeks we will never forget, however, in the end, his cancer was just too aggressive and we sadly said our goodbyes.
In our grief, we decided to look for another golden to bond with our two other senior dogs we had at home. Queue in the most lovable, squishy, baby shark, puppy Tucker. Did I also mention very curious and naughty? Not even a year old pup and we found ourselves off to CARE. While completing the intake paperwork to have an endoscopy with the possibility of surgery to remove a sock from our sweet Tucker’s belly, we came across the election for a blood transfusion. Of course we opted in. The following day, Tucker was discharged, sock free and we were feeling fortunate he didn't need surgery or the blood transfusion, but knew without blood donation our options could have been limited.
When Tucker turned one, we completed the simple online questionnaire on CARE's website, went in for blood work and became a donor. Tucker completed his first donation today and we are so proud that he is saving lives.

Become a part of our life-saving team today and help us continue to provide exceptional care and support to pets in need. Together, we can make a difference, one donation at a time. Fill out our Blood Donor Screening Form today.
